Spring has sprung on us and florals are back in the game! IGNITE’s StyleWatch has returned (after a brief hiatus), and we’re lurking around the corners of campus, admiring your #OOTDs in the heat of sunny Semenyih. Without further ado here are our favourites of the week:
Vania Teoh Swee Imm | Penang | 2nd Year Biomedical Science
Found in a little corner near RK Fathima, wearing an ensemble she called her “I ran late for class – I grabbed anything that wasn’t pyjamas” look. The showstopper of this outfit was her top from Bangkok – with floral detailing that calls for a tropical vacation. Her get-up is definitely bringing us holiday vibes amidst the mid-sem stress (assignments, amirite?). Vania mentions her source of style inspiration are online fashion stores like Love, Bonito and TheClosetLover. Though what ultimately determines her #OOTD, is the weather and we are loving this last minute ensemble!

Zamir Ariff Zainal | Kuala Lumpur | 2nd year International Communication Studies
A returning StyleWatch scout, Zamir needs no introduction. Describing his style as striking on one day and muted on other days, he showed off his colourful, eccentric side when we spotted him. He was caught flaunting a matching floral combination of a button down and shorts in Malaysia’s heat with matching tassled shoes. Inspired by his fashion icon Jeremy Scott, who is known for his loud colours and graphic prints – we surely think Zamir is the reflection of his style icon.

Malihah | Singapore | 1st Year Psychology
When you have class from 9 am to 5 pm, comfort is key and Malihah styles classy casuals oh so well. Sporting a long cardigan – which is currently quite popular amongst hijabistas – her monochromatic look is romanticized with a dusty beige hijab. Unique and individualistic with her style, she mentions that her style has been influenced by fashion icon, Iman Azman (Vivy Yusof’s personal assistant). With the intersection of Malaysian and Singaporean culture, Malihah undoubtedly rocks the hijabi look with her own twist.
